If you think you might be pregnant, you don’t have to figure it out alone, and you don’t have to pay a cent. Sayre is home to our First Look center, the only Hopegate location offering free ultrasounds, along with confidential pregnancy testing, peer counseling, parenting classes, and material support for your baby. No insurance. No fees. No judgment. Just people who will sit with you and help you think clearly about what comes next.

Our pregnancy tests are lab-quality and completely free. If a home test left you unsure, or you saw a faint line and don’t know what it means, come in. We’ll confirm the result and walk you through what it means, at your pace. Everything you tell us stays between us.
A positive test tells you that you’re pregnant. An ultrasound tells you what’s actually happening. We offer free limited obstetric ultrasounds for women between 7 and 20 weeks. It confirms the pregnancy is growing, tells you how far along you are, and checks that it’s in the right place. That last one matters: rarely, a pregnancy grows outside the uterus and needs a doctor right away. You deserve to know before you make any decision.
Our Sayre center sits on West Lockhart Street, just minutes from the New York border. If you’re in Waverly, South Waverly, or the surrounding Southern Tier, you’re closer to us than you might think. Elmira is roughly a twenty-five minute drive down Route 17. There’s no residency requirement and no cost. Just call and we’ll find a time.
Elmira is about twenty-five minutes from our Sayre center, straight down Route 17 to the Waverly exit. Free ultrasounds, free pregnancy testing, and no residency requirement. If you’re driving in from Chemung County, call ahead at 570-886-2090 and we’ll have a time ready for you.
Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the test. It’s not knowing who to tell, or what you want, or whether you’re allowed to feel two things at once. Our peer counselors aren’t therapists. They’re people who have walked this road and will listen without an agenda. Most sessions run under an hour. Some run longer. That’s up to you.
Through Earn While You Learn, every class you complete earns Baby Bucks. You spend them in our Baby Boutique on the things you actually need. Classes cover pregnancy, newborn care, child development, and everyday parenting. They’re free, and they’re practical.
Diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, blankets, clothing, strollers, and car seats. Earned, not handed out, because we’ve found that dignity matters. Come to a class, earn your Baby Bucks, and shop the Boutique.
Our Sayre center serves Athens, Waverly, South Waverly, Milan, Ulster, and Litchfield. We’re part of the Valley community and have been for years. If you’re not sure whether we can help, call. The answer is almost always yes.
